Pricing Methodology
HoloScout shows source-transparent estimates for collector research, not guaranteed sale prices, grading advice, authentication, or appraisals.
Korean Market Estimate
A Korean Market Estimate is built from Korean direct sources such as Naver Shopping API results and approved manual shop or SNS snapshots when enough exact raw single-card evidence is available. It is still an estimate, not a guaranteed sale price.
eBay Active Listing Estimate
An eBay Active Listing Estimate is computed from currently visible eBay listings returned through server-side eBay API workflows when configured. It describes asking prices from active listings, not what buyers actually paid.
Global Market Comparison
Global Market Comparison shows separate US, Japan, and Korea source-labeled rows. The Japan row can use Rakuten Ichiba retail listing/product signals when the official API is configured. Each row keeps its estimate type visible, such as active listing, retail listing, ranking signal, sold comp, or derived reference. Currency conversion is display-only and includes FX source, rate, timestamp, and a convenience-estimate warning when available.
Price History
Price history graphs show source-labeled estimates captured over time after tracking begins. Newly tracked cards may have sparse or empty history, and missing days are shown as no-data gaps rather than invented values. Chart values are not appraisals, guaranteed sale prices, authentication, grading advice, or financial advice.
Regional Rankings
Regional rankings are research signals. Top movers use percentage change calculated as (latest median minus previous median) divided by previous median, then multiplied by 100. Snapshot rankings require minimum source counts and confidence thresholds. Provider rankings, such as a future Rakuten ranking integration, must be labeled as provider ranking signals and kept separate from HoloScout observed rankings.
Global Korean Comps
Global Korean Comps are external comparison signals for Korean cards from enabled sources such as eBay Browse, PriceCharting, or JustTCG. They stay separated from Korean direct data and are labeled as comparison estimates.
Japan-derived Reference
A Japan-derived Reference is used only when Korean direct data is insufficient. It converts approved Japan reference data to KRW with server-side FX source metadata, import-cost buffers, local-market adjustments, and language/liquidity factors. Confidence is capped at 50 unless Korean source evidence confirms it, and it must not be presented as a Korean market estimate.
Median and IQR
HoloScout normalizes listing prices, filters irrelevant results, sorts remaining candidates, and uses the median as the main estimate. Interquartile-range filtering removes extreme outliers before low, median, high, source count, confidence, and warnings are shown.
Excluded listings
The estimator excludes or separates listings that look like graded cards, lots, sealed products, proxies, custom cards, damaged unrelated products, accessories, or irrelevant search results when they do not match the selected estimate type.
Not an appraisal
Active eBay listings only. Not completed sales, guaranteed value, or appraisal. Korean and global pricing outputs are estimates only, not guaranteed sale prices.
